Odisha / Orissa in blessed with rich ore deposits, some of them being :

• Iron ore
• Chrome ore
• Bauxite
• Manganese
• Limestone
• Dolomite

With mining in such a large scale produces Air Pollution hazards due to vehicle movement. Tyre wash systems or Wheel wash systems are a good way to reduce spillage due to mud / ore getting stuck to the tyre of the trucks. KKE has installed several systems in Orissa and surrounding areas and has observed very good results with regards to cleanliness of the road. Also with the new Mining regulation, installation of Tyre Wash System is mandatory at the exit of each mine.

Based on the requirement of the mines, The Wheel wash systems can be classified in to two types :

1. Portable Tyre Wash Systems

These type of systems can be moved from one location to other. These system require minimal civil work and can be installed on an existing Concrete road. The system is fitted with a water recycling tank which can be placed above the ground or below the ground as per the location.

2. Permanent Tyre Wash Systems

As the name suggests, the system is meant for longer durations where you know that the mine / processing center shall be operational for not less 2 -3 years. In this type of system, the equipment is placed insde a concrete pit made specifically for the tire wash system. The tanks can made in concrete or  the Dirt trap system can be placed inside the concrete tank.
