Add It to Chrome
Open the Chrome Web Store page and click Add to Chrome.
Pin the Icon
Click the puzzle piece on the toolbar and pin Wash My Car.
Pick Your City
Start typing your city. Pick it from the list — no location permission needed.
Check the Badge
GO or OK means wash. WAIT or NO means hold off. Open it for the week ahead.
How it decides
What Each Verdict Means
Every day gets a score from 0 to 100, built from the forecast for your city. We lean towards washing whenever the weather honestly allows it.

| GO | 75 and up | A good day to wash. No rain today or tomorrow. |
| OK | 55 to 74 | Fine to wash. A few clouds, or rain a couple of days away. |
| WAIT | 35 to 54 | Better to hold off a day. Rain is possible tomorrow. |
| NO | Under 35 | Do not wash. Rain or snow today, or heavy rain tomorrow. |
The Rules Behind the Score
Rain
Heavy Rain Today or Tomorrow Means NO
A 70% chance of rain or more, or 2 mm or more, today or tomorrow. There is no point washing a car that gets dirty again the next day.
Two clean days
Rain in Two Days Is Still OK
You still get two clean days out of the wash, so we do not tell you to skip it.
After rain
The Day After Rain Scores Higher
Rain leaves mud and water spots behind. Once it is over, that is the best time to wash.
Weather
Freezing and Dust Storms Take Points Off
Heat, wind, everyday dust and pollen do not stop a wash. You get a tip instead, like washing early on a hot day.
Your car
When Your Car Is Due, Good Days Become GO
The care log knows when you last washed. By default we remind you every 7 days — change it to suit you.

Your Privacy
Wash My Car is free, with no sign-up, no ads and no tracking.
Your city, your settings and your car care log are saved on your own device, in Chrome's local storage. They are never sent to us.
To get the forecast, the extension sends the location of the city you chose to the weather service, and nothing else. It does not use your browser's location, so Chrome never asks for it. Notifications are asked for only if you turn the morning reminder on.

Is it really free?
Yes. There is nothing to pay, nothing to sign up for and no ads.
Why does it say NO when it is sunny today?
Because heavy rain is due tomorrow. A car washed today would be dirty again by tomorrow, so we suggest you wait for the day after the rain.
How often does it update?
Every 3 hours, and each time you open it.
Does it know where I am?
Only the city you type in. It does not use your browser's location.
Can I turn the reminders off?
They are off to begin with. If you turn them on, you can turn them off again in Settings at any time.
