KKE 403 : Bus / Truck Wash Equipment

Two hinged vertical brushes, held against the body of the vehicle by pneumatic air pressure. The roof brush is an option, not a fitting — which is why so many fleets with roof luggage carriers buy this machine.

Key features

What the 403 is for

Pneumatically sensed vertical brushes

Each brush hangs on a hinge and is held against the body by an air cylinder. Regulate the air and you change the brush pressure — one knob, no code.

Best on flat-sided vehicles

Buses, container bodies, closed bodies, PVC-covered trucks. Where the sides are plain, hinged brushes reach everything that matters.

Multiple wash programs

Select the programme for the soil in front of you rather than running the longest cycle on every vehicle.

Overview

The KKE 403 is the entry-level machine in the trolley bus and truck wash range. The basic machine comes with two vertical brushes only. The roof brush is an optional add-on — many fleet owners have luggage carriers on the roof and do not want one, and on those vehicles the roof is cleaned by the water nozzles instead.

The vertical brushes are hinged on the sides, and the pressure of the brush against the vehicle is sensed pneumatically. The air pressure in the cylinders can be regulated to change how hard the brush works.

It is a good machine for fleets with plain vertical surfaces: buses, container trucks, closed trucks and PVC-covered trucks.

How it cleans

Hinged brushes, air-regulated pressure

The brushes swing free rather than crossing over, so the 403 cleans the sides and wraps only slightly onto the front and the rear. On a flat-sided bus or a box body that is the whole vehicle. If you need the complete front and rear swept, that is the KKE 504 — its vertical brushes run on driven carriages and cross to the centre line of the bay.

  • Virgin PE filament with an X profile — the edges do the mechanical work
  • Air cylinder per brush, regulated to the pressure you want
  • Roof brush available as an add-on, with the Extended Mirror Program
  • Contour Following System on the roof brush when it is fitted

Standard

Fitted as standard

Everything below is on every KKE 403. The roof brush is the one item on the legacy feature list that is NOT standard — it is an add-on, and always has been.

Optional add-ons

Ordered with the machine or fitted later, depending on the item. Ask for what you need on the quotation — nothing here changes the base machine.

Add-onWhat it does
Roof brushAdds the third brush and the Extended Mirror Program. The 403's signature option
Washable height3.5 m (137") · 4.1 m (161") · 4.6 m (181") · 5.1 m (200") — fixed when the machine is built, so choose on your tallest vehicle
High-pressure pass and wheel blasters5 bar (72 psi) · 20 bar (290 psi) · 40 bar (580 psi) · 80 bar (1160 psi). The pump system is ordered separately
Brush-type wheel washCleans the wheels mechanically as the gantry passes

Truck wash side blastersHigh-pressure blasters aimed at the flanks
Sealer / silicon wax systemA wax pass after the rinse
Exit side blowers, 30 hpA separate product installed at the exit of the bay — no KKE trolley machine carries an on-board dryer, so drying is always its own line on the quotation
Soft-foam brush filamentA paint-liability and tender-specification option, quoted separately

LED bay lightsBay lighting on the machine's own supply
3-year spares kitThe wear parts for three years, shipped with the machine

Technical data

Technical data

The 403 and the KKE 504 share the same chassis from the rail up, so the civil work and the height ladder are common to both. Figures that depend on the options you fit — the connected load above all — are issued on the electrical and GA drawings with your quotation, not published here.

The range

Need the front and rear cleaned, or no brushes at all?

The 403 is the entry machine and it is the right one for a flat-sided fleet. Two other trolley machines sit on the same rail: the KKE 504 adds a third brush and cross-over verticals that sweep the complete front and rear, and the KKE 503 drops brushes altogether for high-pressure nozzles that follow an irregular profile.

FAQ

Common questions about the KKE 403

Is the roof brush standard on the KKE 403?

No — it is an optional add-on, and that is deliberate. Many fleets carry luggage on the roof and do not want a brush over it; on those vehicles the roof is cleaned by the water nozzles instead. Order the roof brush and the Extended Mirror Program comes with it.

How is the brush pressure set?

Pneumatically. Each hinged brush is held against the body by an air cylinder, and the air pressure in the cylinders is regulated to change how hard the brush works. The KKE 504 does this differently — it reads the current the brush motor is drawing.

What is the difference between the KKE 403 and the KKE 504?

They share the chassis and they clean differently. The 403 has two hinged brushes with no cross-over motion, so it cleans the sides and wraps only slightly onto the ends. The KKE 504 has three brushes, and its verticals run on driven carriages that cross to the centre line of the bay, so they sweep the complete front and the complete rear as well.

Can I add high pressure to a 403?

Yes — a high-pressure pass and wheel blasters can both be fitted, at 5, 20, 40 or 80 bar depending on what you are washing off. The pump system is ordered separately. If high pressure is the whole job rather than an addition, look at the KKE 503.

Does the 403 dry the vehicle?

Not on board. No machine in the KKE trolley range carries an on-board dryer. Drying is a separate 30 hp side-blower product installed at the exit of the bay, quoted as its own line.

What tall vehicles will it wash?

It is built to one of four washable heights — 3.5 m (137") · 4.1 m (161") · 4.6 m (181") · 5.1 m (200") — and the height is fixed when the machine is built, so choose it against your tallest vehicle. A double-decker needs one of the taller variants.
