The range
The three types of automatic car wash machine we build
The difference between them is simply what moves: the machine, a belt, or the driver. Everything else — the land, the staffing, the money and the ceiling on cars an hour — follows from that one choice.
Rollover car wash
The car parks and the gantry travels over it and back. One bay, no conveyor, no pit — 8 to 15 cars an hour, brush or touch-free, and the lowest way into the business.
Conveyor tunnel
Fixed equipment and a moving belt, so several cars are being treated at once. Continuous duty, configured stage by stage — the format for volumes one bay cannot clear.
Drive-through fleet system
A tunnel's arches without a tunnel's conveyor: a trained driver takes the car through slowly and each arch fires in turn. Built for dealerships and depots.

Two decisions, and this is the order to take them
Most enquiries open with brush or touchless. It is the second question, not the first — and taking it first is how a site ends up with a machine its plot cannot serve. The sections below take them in the right order: the three formats, then the three washes.

How the car moves through the wash
Trolley, conveyor or drive-through. Settled by arithmetic you already have — the cars arriving in your busiest hour, the shape of your bay and the land you can give it. Get this wrong and no wash technology rescues it.

What touches the paint
Touch-free, brush, or both in one cycle. Settled by what you wash and how dirty it arrives. Every format we build is available either way, so this is a free choice rather than a consequence of the first one.
Format one
Rollover car washes
Also called a trolley or a gantry. The car parks between two columns and the machine travels the length of it and back — one bay, no conveyor, no pit. It is the format most first sites buy, and the one with the widest choice: four models in the range, plus the single-bay ArrowClean below them.
- 8 to 15 cars an hour across the four models, so one bay covers most retail sites without a queue reaching the road
- 300 to 3,000 washes a month of design duty — pick the model for the volume you actually have, not the one you hope for
- No pit and no trench. A slab, a drain and 5 to 10 m² of equipment room; most concentrate tanks ride on the machine itself
- Works in a bay a car reverses out of, which no conveyor can do — so a plot with one way in and out is still a car wash
- Brush, touch-free or both in one cycle, and the height steps to 3.0 m, so an SUV-heavy mix is not a different purchase
- A touch-free rollover for one bay — ArrowClean — if the format is right but the range is more machine than the site needs yet
- Add a second bay rather than a bigger machine when demand grows — and you keep washing on the day one machine is down
Format two
Conveyor tunnel systems
A tunnel and a conveyor are the same machine — two words for one thing. A belt carries the car through fixed stations, so several cars are being treated at once instead of one at a time. It is the only format that clears volumes a single bay cannot, and the one that asks the most of the plot and the budget.
- Continuous throughput, rated per tunnel on the conveyor range page — a rush queues on the approach rather than in the bay
- The same wash on the hundredth car as the first: the conveyor sets the dwell time, so it does not change with the queue or with who is on shift
- Configure the stages you sell — high-pressure pre-wash, foam, a cloth mitter across the roof and glass, wrap brushes on the flanks, wax, spot-free rinse and blower drying
- A three-tier menu that a tunnel can actually deliver, because the extras are separate stations rather than extra minutes in an occupied bay
- Rollers on demand — a roller rises above the belt only when there is a car to push, which is what stops one coming up under a rear wheel
- Plan for the civil work: a conveyor trench the length of the tunnel, 15 m² of equipment room minimum, and a plot a car can drive straight through
- Buy it as a line or as parts — the arches, brush stations, dryers and the conveyor itself are all on the same range page
Format three
Drive-through fleet systems
Fixed arches over a bay and a trained driver who takes the car through slowly while the machine senses it and fires each arch in turn. Built for a dealership or a depot, where the drivers are your own and there are few enough of them to train properly.
- No conveyor and no trench, so it costs less to build than the tunnel it borrows its arches from — a slab and a drain, as a rollover
- As many stages as you configure: pre-wash, soap, rocker panel, under-chassis, wheel brush, brushing, final rinse and blowing
- As fast as you can cycle drivers — with your own staff moving your own vehicles, the throughput is a staffing question rather than a machine one
- Friction or touch-free arches, so a mixed fleet of vans and handover-ready cars can be washed on the same bay
- RFID-ready, so fleet cleaning is logged per vehicle and can be monitored from anywhere
- The driver is part of the equipment. Wash quality follows their skill, which is why this format suits a fleet and not a public forecourt
Decision two
Touch-free, brush, or both — we build all three
This is a fit question, not a quality question. What settles it is the cars you wash and the state they arrive in, and we have no reason to push you either way.
When nothing may touch the paint
The wash is touch-free: foam, chemistry and water do the cleaning.

- New cars at a dealership or an authorised workshop, handed over the same day
- Everyday city dust — the soil a high-pressure pass clears on its own
- Operators who want the visible foam as part of what they sell

When the soil needs mechanical work
Bristles put work into dirt that water pressure alone leaves behind.
- Baked-on soil and road film — mechanical action clears it faster than pressure does
- More cars an hour out of the same bay, which is why most high-volume chains run brushes
- Modern brush material is nothing like the old nylon; large operators worldwide run it on premium cars daily
- Speedoclean and X1.1 are the brush rollovers, and a conveyor's friction stations are the same idea at volume
When the answer is both
High-pressure passes ahead of the brush pass — our most common recommendation.

How should the car move through the wash?
The fork in the road. It sets the civil work, the staffing and the ceiling on how many cars you can put through one bay.

The machine moves
TROLLEYA rollover — also called a trolley or a gantry. The car parks and the machine travels over it and back along a rail. One bay, no conveyor, no pit — a slab and a drain is the whole civil job.
A belt moves the car
CONVEYORA conveyor tunnel — one machine, two names. The equipment is fixed and a belt carries the car through it, so cars are treated continuously instead of one at a time. That is how volumes a single bay cannot reach get cleared.
A driver moves the car
DRIVE-THRUA drive-through fleet system. Fixed arches, no conveyor, and a trained driver takes the car through slowly while the machine senses it and fires each arch in turn.

Can a car leave the way it did not come in?
Walk the plot before you shortlist. Either a car enters at one end and leaves at the other, or it reverses out the way it came in — and one of those rules out a whole format.
Can rule out a conveyor on its own.
In one side, out the other
EITHERBuild this if you have the frontage. A queue forms on the entry side while the bay clears, payment can be taken at the mouth, and every format works. Allow about 5 m of lane per car you want to hold.
In, then back off
TROLLEYEnter, wash, reverse out. It costs cycle time, needs a marshal every open hour and rules out payment at the bay mouth — but plenty of sites run it and a rollover is happy with it. A conveyor is not: it can only load at one end and discharge at the other.

What touches the paint?
Now the wash itself, decided by the cars you take and the state they arrive in. Independent of the three answers above — this one is not a consequence of the format you picked.
Sets the wash technology.
Nothing does
TOUCHLESSTouch-free. Water, foam and chemistry do all the cleaning — on the Wave, oscillating high-pressure arms at 160 bar and 130 lpm, with nothing contacting the vehicle at any point in the cycle.
Brushes do
BRUSHFriction. Bristles put mechanical work into the soil, which clears baked-on dirt faster and gives you more cars an hour out of the same bay. Modern brush material is nothing like the old nylon bristles.
High pressure first, then brushes
BRUSH+HPOne machine, both tools, in that order — the loose mud is off the car before a bristle arrives. It is what we recommend most often for a dusty market, and the X2 is built for it: three brushes plus 120 bar to the sides and the roof.
Four answers, one machine
That is one route through. Answer TOUCHLESS at the last question instead and the same bay takes a Wave; answer under 10 cars an hour at the second and it takes a Speedoclean. Answer CONVEYOR at the first and you are on the Gamma range, where the same paint-contact question is answered by which arches go into the tunnel rather than by which machine you buy.

Cars an hour is the machine's own cycle rate. What a site actually does in a day depends on the programme selected, how fast cars arrive and how well the bay is marshalled — size a business on a measured day, not on a peak hour.

We build brush machines and touch-free machines, so we have no reason to sell you the wrong one
Ask which is better and the honest answer is that it depends on your cars. Ask which is better for your site — tell us the mix, the soil and the busiest hour — and you get a recommendation you can hold us to.
Ours, more often than not, is a brush machine with high-pressure passes running ahead of the brushes. It handles a dusty market without giving up the cars an hour.

What buyers ask us at this stage
What if I choose a trolley and my traffic grows?
You add capacity — you do not upgrade the machine. A rollover's cycle rate is its ceiling, so a second bay with a second machine is the usual answer, and it also gives you a working bay on the day one machine is down.
Plan for it at the layout stage: leave the slab, the drain and the plant-room space for bay two even if you only build bay one. That costs very little now and a great deal later. If you are already confident the volume is coming, price a conveyor alongside and compare the two on paper.
How does the space I have affect the choice?
It can settle it outright. A conveyor loads at one end and discharges at the other, so it needs a plot a car can drive through. A rollover works that way too, and that is the better configuration — a queue can form on the entry side while the bay clears, and payment can be taken at the mouth.
But a rollover will also work where the car has to reverse out the way it came in. That costs cycle time because reversing and queueing share one lane, it needs a marshal every open hour, and it rules out payment at the bay mouth. Scale plans of both are on car wash business layouts.
Do I have to log in to use the ROI calculator?
Yes. The calculator and the reports it saves sit inside the customer portal, because a saved projection is your own work and we would rather it was behind your own login than sitting in a browser someone else uses.
Creating an account takes a minute — name, work email and company — and we email you a password. After that the calculator remembers your scenarios, you can reopen and edit them, and each one downloads as a PDF you can send to a bank or a partner. The same portal holds your machine records, manuals and brochures.
How big does the equipment room need to be?
For a rollover, 5 to 10 square metres (50 to 100 square feet) is enough. For a conveyor, allow 15 square metres (150 square feet) as a minimum, and more as the tunnel lengthens and the arch count rises.
The difference is where the chemistry lives. A rollover carries most of its concentrate tanks on the machine itself; a conveyor puts every dosing pump and concentrate in the room. Either way the room also holds the air compressor, the water pumps, centralised vacuum, chemicals, spares and tools, and on a full-service site a washer and dryer for the microfibre — and every item needs to stay reachable for maintenance and replacement. Where the temperature drops below freezing, the chemical drums come inside too.
Will a conveyor keep running when there is no car in it?
No. The machine tracks each vehicle's position while it is inside the wash bay and switches the conveyor motor off once the car has left the bay area, so a quiet hour does not cost you electricity.
KKE conveyors also run rollers on demand: a roller rises above the belt surface only when there is a car to push, and otherwise travels below it. That is what stops a roller coming up under a rear wheel and jamming.
How is a drive-through fleet wash different from a conveyor?
There is no conveyor. A drive-through uses many of the same arches, but a person drives the car slowly through the bay while the machine senses it and starts each arch in turn. That makes the driver part of the equipment: they have to understand both the machine and the particular car.
It suits a dealership, where the drivers are your own, trained on that marque, and few enough to train properly. Many sites hand-prewash the car before it enters, to take the stubborn dirt and bugs off in one go. The system is the Z10 fleet car wash, and it can be tied to RFID so fleet cleaning is monitored from anywhere.
How long does one car take?
On a rollover, roughly four to seven minutes — which is what 8 to 15 cars an hour works out to. Where in that band you land is decided by the programme the customer picks.
A basic programme is about pre-wash, soap, a brush pass and drying. The extras bundled into the higher-priced programmes each add time: under-chassis wash, lava foam, triple foam wax, sealer wax and tyre shine. On a conveyor the question changes shape, because the car never stops — the wash lasts as long as the tunnel takes to travel.
Touch-free or brush in dusty conditions?
Our usual recommendation is brush equipment with high-pressure add-ons, running the high-pressure passes before the brush pass so the loose mud is off the car first. That gives you friction's cleaning power on baked-on soil without the bristles working through a layer of dust.
Where nothing may touch the paint — a dealership handover, a coated or wrapped car — touch-free is the right answer, and we build that too. It is a fit question, not a quality one.
How many people do I need to run it?
One person can operate the machine. But the business needs more hands: someone has to bring the cars in and park them, treat the dirty spots by hand, finish the car, and look after the customer and the cash.
It still runs on a fraction of the manpower a hand wash needs. Staff for the business, not just the machine — and staff for your busiest hour, not your average day. As cars an hour go up, put another hand on the bay.
Can an automatic car wash be called eco-friendly?
That depends on what leaves the site. A car wash discharges soapy water carrying a light film of oil or grease, off wheel bearings and the occasional leaking engine.
Put in a water recycling system and it separates the oil and takes the sludge out before anything is discharged — and because the same water goes round again, the total your site draws falls. KKE biodegradable chemicals are the other half of it.
