Wash rack + containerised water recycling plant = a relocatable complete wash bay. The rack collects; the container treats; the treated water goes back to the wash guns.
Containment
The drainage is under the deck, not under the ground
On a conventional wash bay, containment means a graded slab and buried channels. On a modular rack it is built into the structure: a continuous steel containment liner beneath the deck, with the channels formed between the structural members carrying water and solids toward the collection end.
Each 2200 × 3000 mm module arrives with that containment already in it, so the pad gets longer and wider without anyone re-designing the drainage.
- The top checker plate stays substantially flat — the drainage happens beneath the washing surface
- Overlapping containment sections between adjoining modules help maintain continuous wash-water containment across the assembled rack
- Water is collected within the rack rather than discharged underneath it, which is what protects the hardstand the rack is standing on
- No conventional underground concrete drainage system to build, permit or leave behind
Why it matters
Water under a wash rack is a structural problem
Environmental discharge is the reason most people ask about containment. The reason our engineers care about it is what uncontained water does to the ground the rack is sitting on.
- Repeated infiltration softens an unsealed or partly prepared hardstand
- Softened ground erodes, and bearing capacity drops with it
- The rack settles — unevenly, because the wetting is uneven
- An out-of-level platform is an unstable place to have a loaded machine and an operator with a high-pressure lance
Solids
Mine mud is not car-wash effluent
Vehicles off a mine or an earthworks site carry soil, clay, sand, mining fines and construction debris in quantity. The collected water cannot be treated as relatively clean wash water, and the solids have to come out before the treatment plant sees them.
- Scraper conveyor — removes accumulated heavy solids and sludge from the collection area mechanically, on installations where the loading justifies it
- Sludge pump — a sludge-capable pump transfers dirty water and slurry from the rack toward the treatment equipment
- Separation ahead of treatment — so filtration is filtering rather than desilting, and the plant stays in service
- The arrangement is specified from the anticipated solids loading. Light road dirt and sticky mining clay do not get the same equipment

Where the water goes
Collect
Manual high-pressure washing on the rack; water, mud, sand and grit run into the collection channels beneath the deck.
Separate
Mud and heavy solids are separated out — by settling, by scraper conveyor, or both, depending on the loading.
Treat
The sludge or transfer pump feeds the containerised plant: oil separation, filtration and conditioning sized to the water and the reuse duty.

What goes in the container
The supporting pumping and treatment equipment is generally installed inside an ISO shipping container — a packaged equipment room that ships and relocates with the rack. The exact contents depend on the project.
Sludge and transfer pumps
Moving slurry and dirty water off the rack and through the plant.
Oil separation
Hydrocarbon removal where the vehicles or the site require it. See oil water separators.
Filtration
Multi-stage filtration sized to the solids and the reuse duty.
Treated-water storage
Buffer storage so the wash guns are not waiting on the plant.
Chemical treatment
Dosing and conditioning where the water chemistry calls for it.
Control panel
Electrical control and instrumentation for the plant, in the same enclosure.
High-pressure washing
The high-pressure equipment itself, where it is supplied with the system.
Packaged and portable
One container to transport, connect and relocate when the operation moves.
What we will not claim
We do not claim that 100% of the water is recycled. Evaporation, carry-off on the vehicle, sludge disposal and filter backwashing all remove water from the loop, so every design includes a make-up supply. Anyone quoting you total recovery is quoting you a brochure, not a water balance.
We also do not offer blanket regulatory guarantees. Discharge and reuse rules vary by jurisdiction and by site, and the treatment train has to be selected against the standard that actually applies to you — which is a project conversation, not a website claim.
