Automatic truck wash — overview

The KKE 503 is an automatic truck wash using high-pressure technology. High-pressure truck wash systems suit fleets where the shapes are irregular and brushes cannot reach the places that need cleaning.

It carries high-pressure nozzles that oscillate at high frequency for better cleaning results. The nozzles are 0-degree nozzles, which clean better than V-jet nozzles.

The contour-following nozzles follow the contour of the vehicle. The length of the system can be increased to wash trucks up to 23 m long, and further with confirmation from KKE.

The pump system

130 litres a minute at 160 bar

Pressure is the whole machine. With no brush there is no mechanical action, so everything that comes off the vehicle comes off because the water and the chemistry took it off — which is why the 503 runs at 160 bar rather than the 20 to 40 bar a brush machine's high-pressure pass is specified at. Two pumps feed the arch. The pump system is sized and quoted against the soil you are actually washing off.

Irregular profiles

Tankers, mixers, tippers, garbage bodies. Where a brush would have to bridge a gap, a nozzle pass can be placed against the actual profile.

Long vehicles

The trolley is extendable in length — up to 23 m of vehicle as standard, and further on confirmation from KKE.

No contact, by design

Nothing touches the paint at any point in the cycle. That is a specification choice, not a verdict on brushes — KKE builds both, and on a flat-sided fleet a brush machine cleans faster and cheaper.

Installed

The truck stands still. The nozzles come to it.

A 503 draws far more power than a brush machine of the same size — the pumps alone are the largest load on the gantry — so the site-supply conversation for a 503 is its own conversation. It is held against your electrical drawing at quotation, not against a published figure.

Is your fleet actually irregular?

Touchless earns its cost when the shapes defeat a brush. If your vehicles are flat-sided — buses, container bodies, closed bodies — a brush machine cleans them faster, with less installed power and a smaller supply. Two sit on the same rail as this one.

Common questions about the KKE 503

What pressure does the KKE 503 run at?

130 litres a minute at 160 bar, from two pumps. That is the machine's own duty, and it is a different thing from the high-pressure pass offered as an add-on to the brush machines, which is specified at 5, 20, 40 or 80 bar. A touchless machine has no mechanical action, so the pressure and the chemistry have to do all of the work.

Why 0° nozzles rather than V-jet?

Cleaning power. A 0° jet concentrates the energy on a point instead of spreading it across a fan, and the nozzles oscillate at high frequency so the point is swept across the surface rather than dwelling on it.

How long a vehicle will it wash?

Up to 23 m as standard, and longer with confirmation from KKE — the length of the system can be increased. That is the only maximum vehicle length published anywhere in the trolley range.

Touchless or brush — which should I buy?

Match it to your shapes, not to a preference. Where the sides are plain — buses, container and closed bodies — a brush machine cleans faster and needs less installed power, and KKE builds those too: the KKE 504 and the KKE 403. Where a brush would have to bridge a gap — tankers, mixers, tippers — the 503 is the machine that can actually reach the surface.

Does the 503 dry the vehicle?

Not on board. No machine in the KKE trolley range carries an on-board dryer; drying is a separate side-blower product installed at the exit of the bay and quoted as its own line.

What supply does a 503 need?

More than a brush machine of the same size, because the pumps are the largest load on the gantry. The figure is confirmed against your electrical drawing at quotation — a 503's incoming supply should never be sized from a brush machine's numbers.
