X1.1 carries the same three brushes as the Speedoclean, on a load-sensing carriage. Motor current tells the controller how hard each brush is working against the body and the carriage answers — so pressure holds across a bonnet, a windscreen and a tailgate instead of being set once and hoped over. It is the step in the range built for 400 to 1,200 washes a month.

Overview
A rollover: the car parks, the machine moves
Two vertical brushes and one horizontal hang from a portal that travels the length of the vehicle on rails set into the floor. The driver stops on the marks and stays in the car. One bay does the whole wash — no conveyor, no tunnel, nobody walking round the vehicle with a lance.
The X1.1 is the middle machine of three that share this chassis. Below it the Speedoclean does the same job at a smaller duty; above it the X2 adds a second control loop and the module bays. What the middle step buys you is the load-sensing carriage, three wash heights, six to eight programmes held as data, and payment wiring fitted whether or not you take a card at the bay on day one.

The steps, their order and their dose are set on the machine's own touchscreen and held as recipes — six to eight of them — so a site can sell a short wash and a long one off the same hardware without rewiring anything. A programme generally runs prewash, soap, brush, sealer wax, dryer, and these are photographs of it doing that on the three machines filmed for this page.
What the beam display shows while it runs is a separate choice, and it is the site's: an X1.1's display carries whatever the site puts on it — the Tbilisi forecourt runs the step names across it, the Kerala bay scrolls its own name — and what the driver reads off the columns is the positioning arrows.

PREWASH
01100 bar before anything touches the paint
High pressure, side and roof, on grit and road film while it is still loose. Skip this step on a genuinely dirty car and the brushes carry the first car's dirt into the second. A step-up to 120 bar is available where the soiling justifies it.

02Soap over the whole car, and left to work
Through the foam module, on its own dosing channel. Four channels is what stops the shampoo, the wax and the rinse aid being the same drum diluted three ways — and it is the step customers photograph.

BRUSH
03Two vertical brushes and one horizontal, closing on the body
The carriage reads motor current and holds a pressure setpoint against the shape of the car, verified before despatch against a signed pressure-versus-signal table for each brush position. The verticals tilt and lock at 15°, so sloped glass and the back of a hatchback get worked rather than skimmed.

04A sealer over the clean paint, on its own channel
A paid upgrade on the menu that costs seconds rather than minutes, laid over the car from the arch on a dosing channel of its own. The module is an option — take it if you intend to sell a protect step rather than just perform one. Where the mains water is hard, a softener or an RO spot-free rinse upstream is worth more to the finish than anything the machine can do downstream of it.

DRYER
05The dryers follow the contour the machine read on the way in
Contour-following roof and side dryers work to the profile captured at the entry, so nozzle-to-panel distance holds across the shape of the body instead of against a nominal one. Side dryers are standard on this model; roof drying on its own leaves the flanks wet, which is the complaint that costs a site its repeat custom.
The foam module and the sealer wax module are priced add-ons, so two of the five steps above arrive only if you order them. The same touchscreen sets the rest of the menu, including the wheel wash, the rinse and any additional chemistry channel. High-pressure pre-wash, the disc wheel washer, side-brush tilt and the side dryers need no ordering — they are on every X1.1. Twelve to thirteen vehicles an hour is what the whole cadence adds up to, drive-in to drive-out.
The brushes
Contact force is measured, not assumed
A brush machine is only as good as its grip on how hard it is pressing. The Speedoclean below this one sets brush pressure pneumatically and holds it. The X1.1 closes the loop: the carriage reads motor current, works out how hard each brush is loaded against the body, and moves to hold a setpoint as the shape of the car changes under it.
That loop is verified before despatch against a signed pressure-versus-signal calibration table for each brush position — measured against the real thing, not sampled on a flat panel. The brushes themselves are soft ribbon strips and they need water and chemistry running through them to stay that way, which is why the pre-wash step is not optional on a dirty car and why the brush change interval is a number we will give you before you order rather than after.

The wheels
A wheel brush, standard, on its own arm
Rims are where a wash gets judged, and they are the part a body brush reaches worst. The X1.1 carries a disc wheel washer as standard: a rotating disc works the wheel face at floor level as the gantry passes, with water firing under the sill beside it.
Two options are worth knowing about before you order. A telescopic washer extends to find a wheel about 250 mm off the line, which is what actually happens on a busy forecourt. And a dedicated rim chemistry channel keeps wheel product out of the body wash — take it if you intend to sell a wheel step rather than just perform one.

Drying
The dryers work to the car in front of them
The photocell contour read at the entry, against the lift encoder, is what the roof and side dryers work to — so nozzle-to-panel distance holds across the shape of the body rather than against a nominal roofline. Side dryers are fitted as standard, in a pair. Roof drying on its own leaves the flanks wet, and a customer who has to wipe their own doors in the car park does not come back.
Memory-contour drying — capturing the profile on the wash pass and replaying it on the dry pass — is an X2 function and is not fitted here. It is not withheld to sell you the machine above: it is built out of this one, and we test before despatch that it is genuinely unavailable in X1.1 firmware.

The tall build
The same bay, with the van in it
The bolted extension kit gives three wash heights — 2.3, 2.6 and 3.0 m. The machine photographed here is built to the top one, in an envelope 4.0 m over the canopy and 3.8 m across, and a further step beyond 3.0 m is available as an option on top of that.
What the height buys is not a taller number. It is the vans, the roof boxes and the high-roof SUVs that a 2.3 m bay turns away all day and never counts, on the same rails and the same programme menu as the cars. Decide it against the tallest vehicle you actually intend to accept, and decide it before the building goes up: the extension bolts on, but the roof over it does not.

The platform
What the X1.1 shares with the rest of the range
Designed to EN 17281. Safety hardwired to ISO 13849 Category 3 / PL d, with the PLC outside the safety path. Phase, sequence and under-voltage protection as standard, and every blower on its own motor protection breaker. Galvanised body panels in high-gloss polyurethane, with every galvanised-to-mild-steel joint isolated. Ships semi knocked down and bolts together on site by trained technicians.

That range is not marketing. It is the band the X1.1 is designed around, and duty cycle is what sets design life on a wash machine — the loop, the carriage and the drives are the parts that decide whether the bay is still working in year seven.
Below about 400 washes a month the Speedoclean does the same job for less money and we will tell you so. Above about 1,200 the honest answer is the X2. Buying below your real volume is the expensive mistake, because it is the one you make twice.

Unattended readiness
Wired for payment before you have decided who takes it
Every X1.1 leaves the factory with payment-gateway-ready wiring and a payment abstraction layer in the controller. The abstraction layer is the point: the payment provider a site starts with is rarely the one it finishes with, and changing provider should not mean changing machine.

What the site sees
The biggest object on your forecourt can carry your name
All three machines on this page are the same model. This one is red, on a forecourt in Tbilisi, running the step names in green across its beam. One is cream, at a highway fuel station in Maharashtra, with lit arrow panels on the column faces and no text display at all. One is graphite, at a retail bay in Kerala, scrolling its own name where this machine says PREWASH. Cladding colour, brush colour, the display and what it says are specified per site.
That matters more on an X1.1 than anywhere else in the range. A site at this volume is usually competing with a hand wash two hundred metres away, and the machine is the only piece of marketing on the forecourt that works at eleven o'clock at night.

Where the X1.1 stops
X1.1 is built for 400 to 1,200 washes a month. Above that the honest answer is the X2, and not because of a feature list — because duty cycle is what sets design life.
The features that separate them are deliberately not retrofittable. Memory-contour drying, the second closed loop and the module bays are absent from an X1.1 by design, and we test before despatch that the reserved functions are genuinely unavailable in X1.1 firmware. A machine that could be quietly upgraded into the one above it would be a machine nobody could price honestly.

X1.1, in detail
Why do the three machines on this page look different?
Because cladding colour, brush colour and the beam display are specified per site. All three are X1.1s: same three brushes, same load-sensing carriage, same controller. One is red on a forecourt in Tbilisi, running the wash step in green across its beam. One is cream at a highway fuel station in Maharashtra, with lit arrow panels and no text display. One is graphite at a retail bay in Kerala, scrolling its own name where the red machine names the step. Custom colour and branding graphics are a priced option on every machine in the range.
How is this different from the Speedoclean?
Same three brushes, different amount of machine underneath them. Speedoclean sets brush pressure pneumatically and holds it; the X1.1 measures brush load and moves against the car. Speedoclean has one wash height and three programmes; the X1.1 has three heights and six to eight programmes held as data. Speedoclean has none of the payment wiring, and the wheel washer and side dryers are options on it rather than standard. The dividing line is volume: up to about 400 washes a month against 400 to 1,200.
What does "load sensing" actually mean on this machine?
The carriage reads the current each brush motor is drawing, which is a direct measure of how hard that brush is loaded against the body, and moves to hold a pressure setpoint as the shape of the car changes under it. The relationship between pressure and signal is calibrated per brush position and the table is signed before the machine leaves us — so it is a measurement rather than an assumption. What it is not is a second closed loop on torque and pressure feedback, which is an X2 function.
What are the wash height options?
2.3, 2.6 and 3.0 m from a bolted extension kit, and a further step beyond 3.0 m is available as a priced option. The red machine photographed on this page is built to the top step of the kit. Choose against the tallest vehicle you actually intend to accept, and check the building, because the machine is not the only thing that has to clear.
Will it wash a van?
On the tall build, yes — there is a panel van going through one on this page. What decides it is the height you order, not the machine: a 2.3 m bay is a car bay, and the vans, roof boxes and high-roof SUVs it turns away are custom you never see counted. Send us the tallest vehicle you intend to accept and we will confirm the build against it.
How much room does the tall build need?
The 3.0 m machine on this page stands 4.0 m to the top of its canopy and 3.8 m across, against roughly 3.6 m of bay width as a working minimum for a 2.3 m build. Both figures are the machine alone — the plant room, the circulation and the doorway a 3 m vehicle has to come through are separate, and they are usually what actually decides the layout. Will it wash every car?
Nearly all of them. Check your own worst case rather than an average: the width of the widest vehicle you expect and the height of the tallest. Send us both and we will confirm against the configuration rather than guess.
Does it wash the wheels?
Yes, with a disc washer fitted as standard — a rotating disc works the wheel face at floor level as the gantry passes. Where cars are not parked on the line, a telescopic washer that reaches a wheel about 250 mm off centre is an option, and so is a dedicated rim chemistry channel. A wheel brush does pick up brake dust, which is abrasive; ask us for the change interval before you order and budget for it.
How much space does it need?
Allow roughly 3.6 m of bay width as a working minimum for the machine itself, plus the plant room and circulation. Send us a plan of the site and our site design team will check it — the bay is usually not the constraint; getting cars in and out without crossing is.
Can it run on a diesel generator?
Yes. Size the set from the connected load stated in your quotation, because the options you select change it — and add the rest of the site, including lighting, compressor, vacuums and air conditioning, before you settle on a rating.
Does anyone have to mix chemicals by hand?
No. Dosing pumps meter concentrate into the water line across four channels, with dose volume and timing set per recipe. Concentrates are ordered by the barrel and diluted by the machine — which is also why measuring dose volumes at commissioning is worth the hour it takes.
Can an X1.1 be upgraded to an X2 later?
No, and that is deliberate. Memory-contour drying, the second closed loop and the module bays are built out of this machine rather than left unfitted, and we verify before despatch that the reserved functions are unavailable in X1.1 firmware. Buy for the volume you expect to reach.
What documentation ships with it?
Operation, maintenance, fault diagnosis and a preventive maintenance schedule, plus the full named fault-code list that the HMI displays. Every code is exercised and read on the HMI before the machine leaves us.
